Cops nab suspect in Harlem mugging, sexual assault of tourist

The ex-con wanted for beating and sexually assaulting a tourist in Harlem was nabbed Thursday morning in upstate New York, police sources said.

Keon Robinson, 28, was arrested in the Schenectady area.

His name and picture were released to the media by the NYPD on Monday, with Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce calling him “a highly dangerous individual.”

Robinson, a Level 3 sex offender, is suspected of attacking a 31-year-old woman, a British tourist with a German passport, about 2:50 a.m. April 4 as she was heading to her Airbnb rental.

Her assailant came up from behind on W. 146th St. near Frederick Douglass Blvd., put his arm around her neck and demanded her bag, claiming he had a gun, according to cops.

Surveillance video released by cops shows him punching the woman in her head as she struggled to keep him from taking the bag.

Robinson knocked the woman’s teeth out, pulled her pants off and groped her, police said.

Robinson was convicted of a 2006 attack in which he bit and tried to rape a woman at gunpoint in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
