From walks along the beach to being pampered in the luxurious surroundings of a stately home, it’s the kind of break in the countryside that any of us could certainly get on board with.
Guests are ferried door-to-door by private chauffeur and there’s even an artist on hand to paint portraits to commemorate the visit.
But this isn’t a luxury hotel in the country for the wealthy elite – it’s a hotel for dogs, where pampered pooches come to relax, rejuventate and detox.
The House of Mutt, a luxurious retreat in Norfolk, features in tonight’s episode of The Secret World of Posh Pets on Channel 5, as it hosts a six-year-old Cockapoo Darcy, belonging to May from Chelsea, West London.
After the designer breed dog put on a bit of weight, May decided to check Darcy into The House of Mutt to get back in shape.

The hotel backs onto the Duke of Norfolk’s estate and hosts dogs owned by the wealthiest of animal lovers, who want to give their pups a detox.
Despite being seen on camera feeding her dog a whole cupcake, May was concerned about Darcy’s expanding waistline.
‘She put on weight from eating too many treats at one of her birthday parties,’ she explained.
She rang up Sarah Mountford, the brains behind The House of Mutt, telling her Darcy ‘needs that waistline back’.

Darcy was then put in the back of a chauffeur-driven car to make her way to the canine holiday destination.
Sarah explained her business is for the plushest of pooches, revealing: ‘We had one client who said their kids go to Eton and the dogs go to The House of Mutt.
‘It’s just very traditional English country life.’
The dogs are given free reign of the estate and are taken on a ‘sporting regime’.

When Darcy arrived Sarah admitted she was a ‘stuck up’ London dog, but she later relaxed with the rest of the posh pups.
Sarah claims her retreat allows dogs to act like dogs, saying: ‘Some people think posh dogs is about spoiling dogs and giving them fripperies and things, but I think it’s as much about doing what’s best for the dog.’
The episode also features Joanna, a divorced mum-of-two living in a £2.8 million mansion in Surrey.
Sarah Mountford said the estate had been described as ‘Eton for dogs’
Joanna spent £200 an hour on the services of Emma Dale, an animal behaviour expert, to work out why her dogs were defecating all over her expensive home.
Emma explained: ‘There’s a real feeling at the moment that dogs are children, fur babies if you like.
‘And when they start treating their animals like children it all goes wonky and they don’t know how to deal with it.’
The Secret World of Posh Pets airs tonight on Channel 5 at 8PM.
