The Dark Knight rises … in time to get to Citi Field to apologize to his teammates for going AWOL and earning a 3-game suspension from the Mets.
Matt Harvey, the embattled former ace of the Mets’ high-powered pitching staff, was spotted leaving his Greenwich Village apartment Tuesday.
It’s Harvey’s first public appearance since the suspension.
Harvey, who failed to show up at Citi Field on Saturday and later claimed to have had a migraine and was too sick to show up to work, was hit with the ban by the club on Sunday.
Mets skipper Terry Collins said Monday during his pregame press conference that the righty “needs to address some guys” when he reports back to Citi Field for Tuesday’s game against the Giants.
“If he wants to do it in a group, which is the easiest, I always think, or if he wants to do it individually, he can do that,” Collins said.
Harvey, who was supposed to start Sunday’s game, is now scheduled to make his next start Friday in Milwaukee.
