A Trump-loving PizzaGate truther who serves as a local official in Michigan isn’t sorry he shared a Facebook post calling for “every last Muslim” to be killed.
“I owe nobody an apology for exercising my First Amendment rights,” Kalkaska village president Jeff Sieting said during Monday’s council meeting, the Record-Eagle reported.
His defiant defense came in response to real-estate broker Cindy Anderson, who grew up near the village and recently noticed several incendiary posts on his Facebook account. She demanded an apology at a meeting last month.
“You ran for office to represent all the people of this community, not just the white, non-Muslim ones,” Anderson said Monday. “You were supposed to represent all of your constituents.”
Anderson and others are seeking to oust Sieting from office over his hateful posts.
County resident Joyce Golden defended him as a “very honest, faithful, hardworking man” at Monday’s meeting, according to the paper — arguing “if you don’t want to read it, get off of (his Facebook page).”
Sieting shared a post in November titled “Kill Them All — Every Last One,” which branded Muslims “dangerously destructive to society” and argued “there is simply no place for them in our world.”
The post — apparently cribbed from the blog “NC Renegade” and since deleted — went on to liken Islam to a “flesh-eating bacteria” and call for “nukes” to be used on the 10 largest majority-Muslim cities.
Sieting hasn’t been particularly sympathetic to Islam in a handful of other posts, either.
“If you want a pet muslim to make you feel all warm & fuzzy about yourself, go get one & drag him into your home to stay. PLEASE,” he wrote Feb. 16. “That way we can thin out you bleeding heart wanna be liberals.”
In another post, he claimed to endorse freedom of religion — but went on to argue “America IS a Christian nation.”
“If that reality is repugnant to you then my suggestion is that you find another continent to reside upon,” he said. “Perhaps one that was founded upon the teachings of allah.”
The remainder of Sieting’s Facebook features a medley of videos on the debunked “PizzaGate” conspiracy theory of a Hillary Clinton-linked pedophile den, Infowars stories, conservative memes, anti-LGBT rants, pro-gun posts and some village-related business.
He also appears to be an ardent fan of President Trump — and really, really doesn’t like the Clintons or former President Barack Obama.
“Our President has done more for the American people in 4 days than that muslim sympathizing puke we just got rid of, more so even that Nazi Bush & rapist Bill Clinton combined,” he wrote four days after the inauguration.
Sieting thinks non-Kalkaska residents are trying to drive him out of office over their dislike for Trump and a sign posted on his Hotel Sieting asking people to pray for the POTUS, the Record-Eagle reported.
Some may just be joining the resistance because they oppose changes he’s implemented as village president, he added.
“I don’t expect everyone to see things the way I do,” Sieting said.
The 150-member strong Facebook group “Kalkaska Residents for Peace” is mulling a recall and potential 2018 challengers to Sieting, Anderson told the paper.
