Mar-a-Lago employee reportedly working for Trump team overseas

A guest receptionist manager at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago is reportedly in Italy coordinating his European trip, according to a report.

Heather Rinkus, who’s married to a two-time convicted felon, is working with the President’s logistics team while Mar-a-Lago closes for the summer. She’s in town for Trump’s G-7 summit and has been issued a government email and cell phone, sources told BuzzFeed News.

Rinkus, who has no government experience, has worked at the “Winter White House” for nearly two years. Previously she worked at a consulting firm where she dealt with small businesses, according to her LinkedIn profile.

When reached by phone, a Mar-a-Lago employee said they weren’t sure when Rinkus would return, but confirmed she worked there.

In September, Rinkus posted a photo to Twitter showing her with Trump at a Miami rally and the caption: “Trump Rally in Miami last night! So proud to work for him and with this team.”

Rinkus’ role has raised questions about Trump Organization employees working for the administration. Senior adviser Hope Hicks, social media director Dan Scavino and bodyguard Keith Schiller have previously worked for the Trump Organization.

Rinkus’ husband, Ari Rinkus, brags about his wife’s ties to Trump while he seeks investors for business dealings, BuzzFeed reported.

He pleaded guilty to conducting a criminal enterprise in 2006 for “illegal possession and resale of stolen motor vehicle.” He pleaded guilty again in 2011 to wire fraud and was released from prison in 2014.
