REVEALED: Trump demands ‘£20 MILLION from taxpayers for New York skyscraper security'

The administration’s staggering security bill includes hundreds of new secret service agents and a bolstered White House security team.

The budget documents, according to the conservative group Judicial Watch, show the Republican administration’s request for “personnel travel costs for the children and grandchildren of President Trump, as well as other functions supporting these details” until he leaves office.

US Congress are also reportedly set to face requests of £1 million ($ 1.3 billion) for increased staffing and £4.9 million ($ 6.3 million) solely for the “rent and utilities” at Trump Tower.

According to reports, Mr Trump’s jet-set style has made the secret service’s job tougher than it has been for previous Presidents.

The 70-year-old travels more extensively on presidential jet Air Force One than his predecessor Barack Obama.

And the US President’s attempts to stay close to his property empire have upped the bill with his recent trips to his Mar-a-Lago resort costing more than $ 1.2 million in total.

It comes after several break-ins to the White House grounds following Mr Trump’s inauguration.

Last week the President’s residence was placed on lockdown after an intruder tried to scale the north fence of the iconic property.

The person is said to have jumped over a bike rack before attempting to climb over the north fence of the iconic property.

And while Mr Trump has increased his demands to protect his skyscraper, it was indicated that he may ditch plans to fund his border wall.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer hailed the President’s decision to put the funding the wall on hold.

He said: “It’s really good news that the President seems to be taking the wall off the table.

“It would remove the prospect of a needless fight over a poison pill proposal that members of both parties don’t support.”
